Precaution measures tips under typhoon

Home

  • Tape your windows
Duct tape can strengthen your windows against gusts, but a full-sized transparent window film can do the job even better.
  • Check for water leakage
If water seeps through your window frames or the cracks on the sides of your air-conditioner when it rains, you should at the very least place some towels there for damage control, and get it fixed as soon as possible.

  • Check your drain openings
Drain openings can be seen on the bathroom and kitchen floors of many residential buildings. Check your drains and clear the blockage as soon as you can.
  • Place items on your balcony or rooftop properly
During typhoons, exposed items must be properly placed and fastened. In case it is blown away, it may cause damage to third parties or property.

Driving

  • Be aware of the flooding blackspots
Do keep in mind some flooding blackspots and avoid low-lying areas and hillside roads.
  • Pay attention to your surroundings when parking
Check whether there are risks of falling objects when parking outside, such as falling trees or concrete. If the situation allows, try parking in some deserted open space or multi-story carparks.
